So what does “huscraft” really mean?
“Hus” is house in Swedish. The Swedish word “Kraft” is defined as power, strength, and force. Our name, colors, and logos parallel my Swedish surname – Bjorklund meaning “birch grove”.
What are huscraft’s professional credentials?
We are a licensed, bonded, and insured general contractor.
Are you a member of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBA)?
Yes, huscraft is proud to be a member of MBA.
Do you sub-contract out all the trades?
We sub-contract some work, such as granite installation, electrical, and plumbing. We only work with licensed, bonded, and insured sub-contractors. We supervise sub-contractors during the construction process.
What do your services include?
We are a design and general contractor company. Our full-service philosophy covers all stages of your home remodeling project from start to finish. See our Step–by-Step process.
Do you specialize in a particular aspect of residential remodeling?
We specialize in creating beautifully designed kitchen and bath remodels for residential clients.
Can I hire huscraft to remodel my townhome or condominium?
Sorry, we only provide remodel services for single family residences.
If I have my own contractor, can I hire huscraft for my design work only?
Sorry, we provide only full-service, general contracting.
What hours of the day will the construction team be at my home during the remodel?
A typical construction day starts at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm. We try to accommodate our client’s schedule whenever feasible.
Can I pick out and purchase my new appliances, fixtures, sinks, or tubs directly from retailers or is that done for me?
Selection of new appliances, fixtures, sinks or tubs is part of the design process. So we strongly suggest that our clients wait to buy new appliances, fixtures, sinks, or tubs until the design phase is completed. This insures that the design is not restricted by the dimensions or style of appliances, fixtures, sinks, or tubs already selected. Once the design and floor plan is confirmed, we will assist you in purchasing your appliances, fixtures, sinks, or tubs through huscraft. We have found that our clients appreciate the assistance and contractor pricing huscraft provides. This also helps keep the appliance, fixture, sinks or tubs portion of the project on budget and on time.
What materials or appliances do I pick out?
During the design process, our clients can be as involved as they wish in the selection of granite, stone tile, fixtures, tubs, vanities, lighting, flooring, appliances, etc. We hold accounts with several local suppliers that specialize in kitchen and bath materials and fixtures. We can bring design materials to you or we can meet in the show room of our supplier.
If my remodel is a kitchen or bath, will I have any access during the remodel?
This depends on the remodel. If you are not replacing countertops, you may have some access. If the remodel is extensive, this is typically the case for kitchen remodels, our clients usually set up a small “camping style” kitchen in another part of the house. For bathroom remodels, our clients typically use another bathroom in the house.
Do I have to move out of the house for the remodel?
It depends on how extensive your remodeling project is and the location of the remodel. Typically, the construction area is sectioned off to minimize inconveniences, and it is not necessary to move out your house.
Once the design is finalized, can I make changes? How does it affect the final cost of my remodel?
Changes can always be made. It is extremely important for clients to realize that changes made once the design phase has been completed and construction has begun will result in increasing the costs and duration of construction.
How quickly will you be able to do my remodel?
