Welcome to huscraft.  My name is Brad Bjorklund. I created huscraft llc in 2007 as an extension of what began as a personal hobby.  So what does “huscraft” really mean?  “Hus” is house in Swedish.  The Swedish word “Kraft” is defined as power, strength, and force.  Our name, colors, and logos parallel my Swedish surname – Bjorklund meaning “birch grove”.

In 1970, my parents built a new home in Lake Forest Park.  The job site was a wonderful playground for a little boy.  I remember gathering up wood scraps that could be used for building forts, wooden hydroplanes, carts and boats.  I assembled a little workshop in the corner of our basement, where I would spend hours sorting my scraps of wood, planning my next creation, and organizing my small tools.  As I grew older, I began to embark on projects around the house.  My early projects included installing a garage door opener and building a privacy screen out of cedar 1x4’s for our family deck.

The next step for a young man in his twenties was home ownership.  I purchased my first home at the age of twenty-four, a small two-story in Auburn, Washington.  I purchased this home as a VA foreclosure, so immediate improvements were necessary.  That home definitely provided great opportunities for learning.  From dry rot repairs to remodeling bathrooms; this house was my “guinea pig”.  In 2001, we purchased our “fixer” in West Bellevue.

In January 2006, after 23 years working for a national transportation company, I decided to pursue a new path.  I spent the next year working full-time on home improvement projects and as a sub-contractor for an east-side glass company before branching out on my own.  My first year has been a huge success.

I want to thank my customers for the opportunities, experiences, and support you have provided me.  You have welcomed me into your homes. These experiences have been extremely satisfying.

I encourage you to take time to explore our web site.  We welcome the opportunity to schedule an appointment to discuss your home project.  If you have any questions, you may reach us directly at 425.455.4959 or drop us an email at
